I always enjoy watching the Academy Awards so I tuned in Sunday night to check out the outfits that the celebrities were wearing.  The dresses were beautiful and were designed with the person’s body size, shape, and coloring in mind. 

The detail on the dresses was amazing.  But it doesn’t stop there.  Their hair was perfectly swept up, the evening bag was coordinated, and their jewelry was stunning.  The celebrities even commented on their shoes, and with the long dresses we could barely see their shoes, but we knew that was part of the finishing touch.  It was an ensemble – a complete package.

The same should apply to your room.   Getting a new sofa, adding an area rug, and hanging that piece of art work over the fireplace just isn’t enough.  You need to complete the room with window treatments just as a woman completes her look when she is getting dressed up..

Sometimes the window treatment will be simple and tailored such as an inverted box pleated valance.  But even though simple, the treatment can still be spectacular with a contrasting liner that gives the just right amount of pizzazz to the treatment.  Or the window treatment can be over the top with swags, and trims, and tassels, and WOW!!  Certainly we take into account the function of the room, the size and shape of the room, and the colors in the room just like the dress designers took into consideration the women they were dressing for the Academy Awards.

Don’t allow your room to be half dressed!
