Our Window Treatment of the month for February is one of my favorites. It can be simply constructed by using solid colored fabrics but the method of construction can make the difference.
Notice that the pleats are flat pleats which give the treatment a more tailored look. The pleats are stitched down only four inches then the pleat flows open to expose the inside of the pleat. This is where you can get creative. Use a darker or contrasting fabric to really add interest to the treatment. Then I always use a micro cord in the seam between the front fabric and the fabric in the pleat. This detail can be a third color to give your treatment some pizzazz or it can be one of the primary two fabrics.
Add your favorite decorative rod and you have a very stunning, but simple fashion statement.
