Window Problems Solved

We all enjoy our windows because they let in that wonderful, natural light. We can see the birds, the trees, and the first snow falling. But they can also cause us problems. Too much light, too hot, too cold.

Glare on a TV screen or a computer screen can be really aggravating. We can solve that problem. Shades that go up and down will control the glare when you need it but the room doesn’t have to be dark all day. You can get room darkening shades that absolutely removes the glare from the sun or a light filtering shade that reduces the glare. Then you can raise the shades when the sun has moved to the other side of the house. The color of the shade has a lot to do with how much light/glare is kept off your screen.

Glare reduced on TV

When it is too cold outside and that cold is coming in through your windows, adding cellular shades can reduce the heat loss through your windows. The Duette® Architella® honeycomb shades offered by Hunter Douglas keep the warmth in your home when you have them down at night. And conversely they keep your cool air-conditioned air inside in the summer, reducing solar heat gain in your west facing rooms.

Sound absorbing panels and roman shades

If you have switched to hard wood floors, there isn’t much to absorb the echo in your room. Hunter Douglas has several roman shade styles that will absorb sound and will add style and design to your room. We can also make draperies or just side panels with a valance that will absorb sound. And Hunter Douglas’ Silhouette® window shadings will be a soft dressy look while still maintaining privacy in your living room or bedroom.

Silhouette® window shadings direct daylight into your room

All of these shades can be motorized so you don’t have to leave the comfort of your chair to maintain comfort in your room. And you can have these shades set on a schedule to raise and lower at a specified time so you don’t have to be late for work just because you want your shades raised in the morning.

Daylighting is a practice of using natural light to illuminate your room rather than relying entirely on electric lights during the day. Many of the shades Hunter Douglas offer gives you filtered light throughout the day. And by tilting louvers you can direct light to just where you want it.
