When we think of window treatments we often think of keeping out the cold and heat. But there is another function. Window treatments can also offer filtered light.
Filtered light is drawn into the room from the windows, reducing our need for artificial light during the day. By tilting vanes and louvers you can direct light into your home where you want it.
Light is best filtered by using one of three Hunter Douglas shades – Luminette® Privacy Sheers, Pirouette® Window Shadings, and Silhouette® Window Shadings.
Luminette® Privacy Sheers are both a “drapery” and a “sheer”. A soft light-filtering sheer fabric is combined with a movable liner to give you the best of both worlds. The fabric liner vanes rotate to control and direct light. The sheer gives you daytime privacy while still enjoying the outside view. You can also draw both the liner and sheer to the side of the window to see directly out when an unfiltered view is important. The sheer fabric comes in soft tones and beautiful textures.
Pirouette® Window Shadings have horizontal fabric vanes that can be opened or closed or anywhere in-between. When open, contoured or flat, these soft vanes can be adjusted easily to control how much view you want.
You can select between light filtering and a room darkening option. Both options give you complete privacy when you want to keep the world out. And the colors and textures fit well with today’s fashions.
Silhouette® Window Shadings are horizontal shadings that have the Signature S-Vane which helps shape the light and the view. This is an innovative design that diffuses and softened sunlight simply by tilting the vanes. Often I say Silhouette® window shadings are like a blind but are all fabric with the soft fabric colors suspended between sheers.
All three of these possibilities can offer superior UV protection. And they are available in beautiful fabric choices and gorgeous color options.
